My mission is to encourage students to pursue excellence in their playing by learning concepts of stewardship, discipline, competition, and practice. Artistic excellence in trombone performance is predicated on students taking ownership of their learning.

- Cultivate competitive maturity through orchestral mock auditions, festival participation, and participation in professional auditions
- Encourage exploration, implementation, and ownership of daily practice routines and macro study plans
- Continue to perform personally at the highest level, while maintaining a balanced practice and performance schedule
- Be a model of creative endeavors in musical and developmental projects
- Mentor students towards career and musical goals
